Meet the Author

Elaine D Lowton lives in Hertfordshire with her husband and the few marbles she has left.

Growing up Elaine loved to read. She enjoyed the classic children’s authors, progressing to romance, horror and fantasy. Often binge reading if the chance arose. Secretly dreaming that one day she too would be a published author.

She kept that dream to herself, never daring to chase it. Until life took an unexpected turn. A Parkinson’s diagnosis for her husband found her looking for a way to process her feelings and frustrations. She set up a blog journaling the changes and challenges they were both facing.

This reignited her passion for writing and with some gentle prodding and a lot of nagging she took the leap and started working on writing with the intention of getting it published. There are plenty of work in progresses out there: maybe they will be revisited at some point and allowed to see the light of day.

Asking for inspiration for a subject for her foray into writing from her friends she was shocked at the suggestion but went for it. Albeit a little dubiously. That book was written quickly but another had wiggled its way into the picture and took over. Could she find that belief in herself and get them to the finish line and finally published? Well as you are reading this the answer must be yes, at least one of them made it.

Elaine admits that putting herself out there is one of the scariest things she has done as she is a shy person; until she gets to know you. But not giving it a go was a regret she didn’t want to have. You should never live by what if!

As well as writing Elaine holds down a full time job and has her own small craft business. She will be the first to admit she is ever so slightly mad trying to manage it all but it keeps her out of mischief…. or does it?
